Rev. Emily Riley Campbell
Emily has been part of the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth (FPCP) family since 2006. She first served as the Associate Pastor from 2006-2018, but in 2019 Emily followed God’s call into a new role as our Senior Pastor.
Emily spends her time in the church leading worship, preaching, and providing pastoral care. Emily also moderates Session monthly and serves as the pastoral liaison to the church’s two Mission Committees, (Local and National/International), the Finance Committee, the Human Resources Committee, and the Member Connect Committee.
Additionally, Emily enjoys, when able, teaching Bible Studies and participating in mission trips (including trips to Detroit, Mexico, and to Malawi, Africa). She also enjoys getting to know the church family and visitors over coffee and meals.
Emily was born and raised in Sewickley, Pennsylvania (a suburb of Pittsburgh). She received a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster in Wooster, OH and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ. She was ordained in June of 1997, one week before her soon-to-be husband, the Rev. Doug Campbell was ordained. Doug is also a Presbyterian Minister who most recently served as the CEO of HOPE Clinic in Ypsilanti, MI.
Two weeks after they were ordained, Emily and Doug were married and ten days later moved overseas to Scotland where they served as ministers within the Church of Scotland. In total, the couple lived in Scotland (first in Glasgow, and then in Edinburgh) for a total of ten years. Their now college-age daughters, Sarah, and Hannah were both born in Scotland.
In her free time, Emily loves to travel, read, cook (when time allows), and spend time with family and friends.
