Early World Bible Study

Calling All Early Risers! Grab a cup of coffee and open your laptop to join Early Word Bible Study for a new series, The Jesus Way- A Conversation in Following Jesus, by Eugene Peterson.

A way of sacrifice. A way of failure. A way on the margins. A way of holiness. In The Jesus Way Eugene Peterson shows how the ways of those who came before Christ ― Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah, and Isaiah ― revealed and prepared the “way of the Lord” that became incarnate and complete in Jesus.

Purchase the book and Study Guide and join us virtually on Zoom every Wednesday at 7:45 – 9:00 AM starting January 24, 2024. Contact Sue Kage for further information and the Zoom link.

Saturday Morning Men’s Bible Study

All men are invited to join with us for our next study on three New Testament letters: 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. We will be using N. T. Wright’s (“For Everyone”) Commentary and Study Guide for this 12-week study. We meet on Saturday mornings from 7:45-9:15am, both in-person in the Hearth Room and on Zoom. “Taken together, these letters are usually called “the Pastoral Letters,” partly because Paul is acting as a pastor to Timothy and Titus, and partly because he is writing to instruct them in their own pastoral ministries.” (from N. T. Wright’s intro).

Please contact Tom Weaver ttw@comcast.net for additional information, including the Zoom link. Please prayerfully consider joining with us!

Women of the Word on Wednesdays Bible Study

Many of us believe we aren’t good enough to meet other people’s expectations. Being missed and marginalized by others, moves us to assume we’re not quite good enough for God either. Join us in this Bible study according to Luke, of a literary masterpiece that doesn’t celebrate the elite, but embraces the outliers, outcasts, and overlooked!

Our weekly gatherings on Wednesday will consist of small group sessions to discuss your previous weeks homework. This study

includes two weeks of Bible study for each week of the curriculum, streaming videos that are included with your purchase, which you will view in the comfort of your home. To obtain the workbook, you may purchase through Amazon or your favorite book distributor or we can help you purchase the workbook if requested. Please register online at: https://forms.gle/zTx7pZB2DsUPeXq17 or contact Sue Kage at skage@comcast.net by January 15, 2024.

Membership Exploration Class

Membership has everything to do with your commitment to God. It is the act of inviting God into your heart and life more fully.

The Membership Exploration Class is designed to assist you in exploring what membership means and equipping you with the information you need to make a decision about whether you feel called to become a deeper part of the community at First Pres Plymouth (FPCP).  This is an opportunity for exploration and there is no obligation to join at the completion of the class.

Classes are led by our two ministers with assistance from the Member Connect Committee. Classes focus on:

  • What it means to be a Christian
  • What it means to be a Presbyterian
  • A brief history of the Presbyterian church and our congregation
  • FPCP ministries, missions, and staff
  • Where is God calling you?
Upcoming Spring 2024 Classes:
  • In Person: Sunday, April 14th from 1pm – 3pm
  • Online (via Zoom): Sunday, April 21st from 1pm – 2 pm
