This week we are looking at Patience, one of God’s Gifts. People have many opportunities to exercise patience–waiting for trains or long lines, waiting for time to pass, waiting for events to occur. These are things that cause us stress, and those stresses can build up and boil over when they become overwhelming, so they are definitely good places to exercise patience. God, however, shows us throughout the Bible, that He is more interested in interpersonal relationships than He is in situations. He often teaches people the value of waiting in our relationships with others. Through waiting, through patience, through love, He provides a way for us to heal broken and strained relationships and past hurts.
Based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a and 2 Peter 3:9.
