A Very Good Storm - Sanctuary | First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth

We had a special guest minister today, the Rev. Jim Faile.  Water plays a big part in our lives, and it played an important part in biblical stories as well, from Creation to Noah, from Moses to Jesus.  There are stories of oceans and rivers, of deliverance to baptism.  When we look at the story of Jesus calming the storm in Luke, we see that the disciples were fine in calm seas, but once the seas became rough and stormy, they became afraid and called on Jesus in their fear.  It’s easy for us to be like the disciples – happy to go about our lives when the seas of life are smooth and calm, but panicking when the seas become stormy and the waves of life get too large.  Is there hope, we wonder?  Rev. Faile shares his assurance of Jesus’ calming presence in today’s message.

Based on the story of Jesus calming the storm as told in Luke 8:22-25.
