Reflections on Grace: Daily Grace - Upper Room | First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth

We are beginning a new Lenten sermon series that focuses on Grace.  Today’s focus is on Daily Grace – the grace that we experience every single day of our lives.  We begin with life’s most basic truth: every breath we take in this life is a gift of grace given to us by God.  We are designed by God to be an intricate and integral part of creation.  So even when we’re struggling to respond to God’s grace, even THEN, in those moments, we’re STILL called to respond to God’s grace.  The ‘attitude of gratitude’ is what makes the difference in our lives.  It can transform our lives, if we let it.  Gratitude is the miracle cure.

Pastor Emily issued each of us a challenge today in the practice of gratitude:  Every day, by 9:30am, list and thank God for three things you’re grateful for, even if one of them is coffee every… single… day…  Then, before you go to bed, do it again.  Look back and list and thank God for three more things that you were grateful for during that day.  You will see your life transformed into one of gratitude.

Based on Psalm 8 and James 1:17.
