In contrasting the story of the valley of dry bones with the story of Jesus’ testing in the desert, Dr. Skimins shared with us an interesting comparison.  The despair of the Israelites of Ezekiel’s time is very different from the success of Jesus’ ministry at that point, but the message for them, and for us, is still essentially the same.  In our lives, whether we’re in the depths of despair or the highs of success, we must resist the whispers and keep our minds focused on the basics.  We must TRUST in God.  We, like Ezekiel and Jesus, are called for a purpose, and our challenge is to continue to move forward on the path set for us by God.
