Where do we go when we’re desperate? When there’s no where else to turn? Psalm 61:2 offers us this prayer: “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” God is where we should look for help. This Psalm urges us to get out of the water, get up on something that will keep us above the waves that threaten us. When we are overwhelmed or in trouble, we need to look up to God, and to trust in Him. He is the rock that we can go to for help. Sometimes we can only swim in faith, with our eyes closed, pulling blindly for the shore, but we can always trust in God’s love and protection to get us through our times of fear and distress.
Based on Ephesians 3:14-21 and Psalm 61:2.
