As we near the end of our series on the Fruit of the Spirit, today, we look at Gentleness, the act of being considerate or kindly in disposition, amiable and tender, towards others. The lack of gentleness in society has been around longer than we might recognize. In fact, it was written about by an unknown person as far back as 1990 BC! But Jesus had much to say in scripture on the topic of gentleness. Gentleness is a choice, as are all the fruits we’ve been studying. It’s a seed planted in us that must be nurtured and deliberately brought to fruition. Gentleness can be held, it can be taught, and it must be practiced daily for this and all other fruits of the spirit to ripen. So, each day, choose to be gentle.
