As Jesus lived through the last week before his crucifixion, he went to the Temple every single day. He went where his people to were that week, to bring God’s love to all of them, and today, to all of US. He was facing making the ultimate sacrifice for them, and for us – he was telling us that we were his, and he would do anything – up to and including death – for us. Palm Sunday proves just that. Jesus rode in the parade, not to be a king or to be recognized as a celebrity, but to save us. Jesus knew what lay ahead, but he was willing to follow the path laid before him anyway. Palm Sunday was the beginning of our salvation and the gift of God’s grace.
