“This wasn’t what I was expecting.” This is likely how the Magi felt when they arrived at the stable – the place the star had led them.  They probably were expecting to meet a king or a mighty leader, or be led to a palace or a place of great importance and opulence.  Instead, they found a young couple and a baby in a stable.  It certainly WASN’T what they were expecting.  Even today, we bring our ‘gifts’ to church, but we often arrive feeling baffled.  Life as a christian is probably not what we were expecting, either.  But as the Magi were led to the stable, then told to go another direction home, so we, too, may find ourselves led on a different road after experiencing the baby in the stable.  But we must first look for that glimpse of God in the stable.  When you find Him, give him your best.  After a stable experience, you will never be the same.  You will be a new person and a new creation.
