Senior High students (grades 9 – 12) are invited to join a Sunday evening Youth Group.
This group, led by Director of Youth Ministries Josh Imboden, meets from 6:00 – 8:00pm and includes fellowship, Bible study, a message… and food! Worship music is provided by Varsity Grace, a student-led praise band that has provided music for this ministry for the past eight years.
Some popular related activities include:
- Annual High School Winter Retreat at the Christian camp SpringHill in Evart, MI, where students spend a weekend in January immersed in Christian fellowship and worship (and where they compete against other churches in the popular Broomball competitions). Sign up for SpringHill here
- Teen Mission Trip – Generally taking place in late June, students and adult leaders participate in a weeklong mission trip that includes construction projects and worship opportunities of all kinds. Locations of past trips include serving in communities in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mexico, as well as neighborhoods in Detroit.
Leadership Opportunities – Our high school students frequently serve in leadership roles within our church. Opportunities to serve in this way include helping with Sunday School, Middle School Youth Group and VBS; leading worship; providing music for church worship services; leading Bible studies for other students; providing childcare/food service/wait staff support for church events; and coordinating student-generated mission projects, to name just a few.
Does my family need to belong to the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth to participate in the High School Ministry activities?
The High School ministry programs are open to any student who would like to attend and learn more about God’s love and His works in our lives. Many teens witness to their peers through invitations to participate in the High School Ministry activities.
