Looking for some creative summer fun for the kids? Mark your calendars for July 17-21, 2017!

MakerFunFactoryLogo_LRThis summer, we will be sparking kids’ creativity and transform our church into a place buzzing with excitement with Maker Fun Factory VBS! Kids at VBS will discover they are created by God and are built for a purpose.  As kids experience the fun of VBS, they also learn some pretty special lessons: God made you; God is for you; God is always with you; God will always love you; and God made you for a reason.  As they go through the week, playing games, singing songs, and learning about some pretty special people in the Bible, they’ll also meet new friends, some their own age, and some who… well let’s just say these new friends will keep them busy as bees, and there won’t be time to be crabby as they come back each day to share some special lessons that teach us about following Jesus.

We transformed our church into a wonderful, exciting weeklong VBS experience where children learned that God is always there for kids AND adults!

DSCN3311We hope you will mark your calendars now for the 2017 VBS week your kids won’t want to miss! Keep watching this page for more information about the 2017 program. We’ll post details here as they become available.

Would you like to help with VBS this year? Why not consider being a youth or adult volunteer? It promises to be a lot of fun! We are looking for people who are middle school aged or older to lead or help with groups and activities in the morning (Mon-Fri).

If you feel called to help, we’d LOVE to have you join us — the more, the merrier! We always have a ton of fun at VBS!

Overview of Programs

Video from Day 1 of VBS 2014 – Weird Animals

VBS is for children from preschool age (must be 3 before November 1st of previous year, following the school district’s rules) through 5th grade. Children from FPCP and the surrounding community are welcomed to register for VBS. It is designed to teach children about God in a fun and loving environment. Through the week the children will hear Bible stories, do crafts and mission projects, play games, have tasty treats, and watch videos about the program lessons and stories.

DSCN2337Ministry Focus

To provide a place for young children to develop friendships with other children and adults and also to develop a relationship with God while having fun.

Where and When does it take place?

Vacation Bible School 2017 will take place on the mornings of July 17-21 at the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth!

Day4_Skyler_LRFormat

Children ages K-5th grade are divided into mixed-age groups led by adult Crew Leader and middle or high school youth Crew Helpers. VBS begins in the Sanctuary with a high-energy program of music and scripture that introduces the theme and character of the day. Following the opening, groups are released to rotate through a series of activities including a fun video story based on the day’s theme, Crafts and Mission, Games, Bible Stories and Treats. The morning of fun and fellowship closes with a return to the Sanctuary for more music and the day’s wrap-up, where children are encouraged to share their reflections, God moments and their joy in learning about God. The week of fun ends with a VBS-themed Sunday worship service. The week’s messages become an integral part of the service as the children share with their church family what they’ve learned about God and the Bible through music, scripture and stories.

K-5th Grade Children

DSCN3071Children from Kindergarten through 5th grade are the primary age group for VBS. They will have tons of fun as they rotate through each day’s activities, learning about Bible verses and Bible stories in a fun, interactive and kid-friendly way.

PreSchool Children

A morning of corresponding VBS activities is available for preschool aged children. It includes all the same elements as the program for the older children, just in an easier-to-follow format.

Day3_Bubba_LRInfants

Childcare will only be available for infants during VBS if at least one parent is volunteering for VBS. General childcare for infants is not available during this activity.

Volunteering Opportunities

DSCN2505We could not offer this wonderful summer program without the help of MANY of our parents and friends. If you are available to help with VBS, a valid Ministry with Minors form must be on file with FPCP prior to the start of the event. There are many opportunities available, including:

  • Crew Helpers for both K-5th grade and Preschool programs
  • Station Leaders and Helpers for the daily video, as well as Crafts & Mission, Games, Bible Stories and Treats
  • Infants/Toddler Leaders and Helpers

To sign up for one of these positions, visit our Sign-Up Genius link (Note: Volunteer registration will not begin until Spring 2017.  Please check back then.) to see what positions are open and to select the one that calls to you!

Day2_Tina_LRDoes my family need to belong to the First Presbyterian Church to participate in VBS?

No, VBS is open to any child, age Preschool to 5th grade, who would like to attend and learn more about God’s love and His works in our lives. However, preregistration is mandatory to allow us to prepare for the appropriate number of children attending. Please visit the VBS Registration Center (Note: Registration will not begin until Spring 2016.  Please check back then.) to complete the Online VBS Registration Form or print the PDF VBS Registration Form and return it to the church office with your cash, check or credit payment to ensure a spot for your child(ren).
