Going Home – an End-of-Life Planning Booklet
After many months of planning, the Deacons are ready to distribute copies of Going Home: An End-of-Life Planning Book.
You may think this book sounds depressing, but a completed book like this is absolutely one of the greatest gifts that you can give to your spouse and children. It is a gift that your parents and loved ones can give to you. Within this book, you have the opportunity to share information concerning your finances, household policies, medical decisions, and funeral planning. As people of faith, we do not fear death, and this 73-page book allows those whom we love the opportunity to grieve without any added stress, worry, or fear that comes from not knowing needed information and the desires of our loved ones. You are encouraged to get a copy of this book for yourself and/or a loved one and fill it out in detail.
The Deacons will begin distribution of these books on February 27 & 28. On Saturday, February 27 from 10 am – 2 pm, Deacons will be in our church’s parking lot ready to pass our physical copies of the book as a free resource. You can take more than one copy. Then, on Sunday, February 28, Deacons will also be present 9:30 am – 11 am so that you can receive a physical copy of the book as you come to worship in the parking lot.
For those who would prefer an electronic copy, or for those unable to pick up a physical copy that weekend, beginning February 27, there will be a link to an online form on the church’s website where you can request either an electronic copy be emailed to you, or a physical copy be mailed to you. If you prefer, you can also request a copy to be mailed to you by contacting Bev Girard (734-395-5102) or by completing the:
Going Home Request Form
The electronic copy is available as a Word document. You are encouraged to edit the document as needed in order to best fit your needs. Additionally, you can print the document yourself, just be aware that the document in full form is 73 pages.
We pray that this book will be a blessing to you and your family. If in your planning you need any additional guidance, please know that you can always contact one of our pastors for support.
