How can I give to the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth?

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to give in the way that is most convenient for you.  We offer a number of giving options below.

Give Now Online

In-Person on Sunday

On Sundays, place cash or checks payable to FPCP (First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth) in the offering plate during any of our Sunday services.

If you intend to fulfill an annual pledge by cash or check, you should request a box of numbered envelopes.  Enclosing your offering in the numbered envelopes from your pledge box or noting your pledge box number on a pew envelope will ensure that your giving is recorded, and a statement of giving will be sent to you quarterly for tax purposes.

Specific designations (special donations such as Colina de Luz, Deacons, Memorial Fund, etc.) may be noted by a comment on the memo line of your check or written on the envelope with cash.

If you would like to commit to giving an annual pledge and would like to receive a pledge box of numbered envelopes, please contact the Church Business Manager at 734-453-6464 ext. 116.

Mail

You can mail your check to the church office (please do not send cash through the mail).

If you are making a contribution towards your annual pledge, please note your pledge box number or enclose a numbered envelope from your pledge box to ensure that your giving is recorded, and a statement of giving will be sent to you quarterly for tax purposes.

Specific designations (special donations such as Colina de Luz, One Great Hour of Sharing, Christmas Joy, etc.) may be noted by a comment on the memo line of your check.

Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an account where you can deposit and manage cash and non-cash assets that are reserved for future charitable giving.  These funds are easy to administer, offer potential tax savings, and allow your deposited assets to grow over time.  This can be an excellent way for you to make contributions or fulfill your annual pledge to First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth.

You should consult with your financial and/or tax advisor to determine if using a DAF is appropriate for your situation and objectives.

Qualified Charitable Distributions

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years or older to donate up to $100,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA (Individual Retirement Account). QCDs can be used to satisfy their required minimum distribution (RMD) after attaining age 73 by a direct transfer of up to $100,000 to a charity of choice. Because QCDs do not increase taxable income, both higher tax rates and phaseouts can be avoided.

Your IRA custodian can either send an electronic transfer of funds or a check directly to First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth.

Non-Cash Gifts or Appreciated Securities

There can be significant tax benefits associated with giving appreciated stock or other non-cash gifts which may be more advantageous than making a direct cash donation.

You can donate these types of securities:

  • Publicly-traded stocks
  • Shares of mutual funds and ETFs
  • Bonds

To donate stock or other securities, you will follow a transfer process from your brokerage account custodian. You will need information from our church business manager  If you wish to give a gift of stock, mutual fund shares, or another type of non-cash gift, please contact the Church Business Manager at 734-453-6464 ext. 116.
