This event is for Livonia, Northville Township, and the City of Northville – Day 2 of 2
Do You Have Household Hazardous Waste??
What is Household Hazardous Waste? Household hazardous waste is trash or recycling that should not be put in your regular weekly collection. It is waste that should not go to the landfill or recycling center. Different towns/cities/counties accept different items as hazardous waste. Some commonly accepted items include things like batteries, paint, computer components, garden chemicals, motor oil, antifreeze, fluorescent lightbulbs, cleaners, solvents, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors. Each town/city/ county has a list of what is acceptable and what is not; their websites are included on this flier.
When & Where Can I Take It?
Towns, cities, and counties have special collection days to accept your hazardous waste. Here is a list organized by location and collection dates. If your town/city doesn’t have its own collection day, you can bring hazardous waste to your county’s hazardous waste collection day. Be sure to check what is allowed for the different locations and dates.
