Children from first through fifth grade meet in Room 134 for Sunday School classes during both the 9:00 and 10:35am worship hours. The curriculum currently in use is “What’s In The Bible?” This is an engaging and entertaining video-based series from Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggie Tales. Each week, the children learn the basics, as well as in-depth details, about the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Children will begin each Sunday in the Sanctuary or the Upper Room and will be dismissed as a group to move to their Sunday School classroom. As part of their Christian Education, the children will share in a singing time each month and will be included periodically as part of the worship service. Each month, they will also return to the worship service to observe or partake in the Sacrament of Communion.
Our midweek BRIDGE program, held on Wednesday evenings from 5:45-7:30pm, is designed to be a bridge from Sunday to Sunday, from earth to heaven, and from ourselves to God. While the Word of God is shared weekly, the Bridge is a time of fun and fellowship. A child-friendly meal is shared, and relationships are built, by sitting at table with other children and other adults acting as “table parents.” A rotating schedule includes Bible time, worship skills, and recreation, and is open to all children from Preschool through fifth grade. Because the Bridge is designed to be a family midweek program, we ask for a parent to attend and share their time and talents to aid the program.
